Cleaning
- Remove dust and dirt with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use water, damp cloths, or cleaning products directly on the leather — this may accelerate flaking of the cracquelé effect.
- Avoid rubbing; dabbing is preferred over scrubbing.
Impregnating
- Only use a colourless, leather-specific impregnation spray (no universal or silicone-based sprays) and test it on an inconspicuous spot first.
- Spray thinly and evenly from a distance and let it dry completely at room temperature.
Avoid contact with
- Sharp objects, rough surfaces, and aggressive substances (perfume, alcohol, solvents).
- Prolonged exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures.
Extra tips
- Use a shoehorn to prevent damage to the heel and the leather.
- Use shoe trees to help maintain the shape without forcing the leather.
Important to know
The crackled effect is an intentional and unique feature of this leather, not a manufacturing defect. Due to the nature of the material, some change or flaking over time is normal and part of the shoe's vintage look.
